Too vague of a report, just suggested regions rather than being specific as to nationality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. Our Ancestry Composition report will tell you what percent of your DNA comes from each of 31 populations worldwide. The population labels in Ancestry Composition refer to genetically similar groups, rather than nationalities. In general, we sought to make the populations as small as possible, subject to the constraint of being able to distinguish between them. Populations may be inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart.
To view a full list of the reference populations, please click the blue "See all 31 tested populations" link under your Ancestry Composition results.

I have learned a lot about myself. Who would have ever known that a person my age could still be finding out about my heritage. I never knew most of what was found in my report. Amazing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Broad generalizatons

23andMe uses something specific (your saliva) to give you broad generalizations about your heritage. It is overpriced at $100. It may be amusing to recite the findings at a gathering of friends, but that is about all. It leaves you short on talking points.

Welcome to Me!

I received 23andMe Ancestry and Health as a gift from a dear friend. She knew that I had a keen interest in knowing who I was and about my ancestors. She also knew that I did not have any relatives from whom I could gain this information. It was exciting to complete the kit, to send it off, and to receive my Reports. Wait, I am not Norwegian? I am 59.6% British and Irish! That explains my many trips to and love of Britain and Ireland! I am so very happy to have been enlightened with the keys to my DNA, to ME.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I found my birth family!

Because of "23andMe" and my DNA testing, I have found my biological mother, sisters and brother, and lots of cousins, Aunts and Uncles! I was adopted and didn't know until adulthood. I have spent nearly 10 years looking for any sign of a bio-family. Fortunately, my "new" Nephew also did testing and we found each other and share quite a bit of DNA. I will be visiting my 80 year old mother and the rest of my family this week! Thank you!!

The ancestory stuff was interesting, but genetic data on the health side was inaccurate for me, as I have cystic fibrosis and it reported I did not.

I did the Ancestry + Health but feel like the health didn't tell me enough I didn't already know about myself, like being able to smell asparagus in other's urine. But I enjoyed the ancestry and some of the insites they give. Also was able to get my Raw Data and plug it into another site to look for mutations that can cause other health issues.
