You must purchase the premium membership to view things that would be of importance to most people. Disappointed that this was not prominently disclosed prior to purchase.

I bought this a couple of months ago and I love it.
It pretty much said the same thing as ancestry but in more detail and more comprehensive easier for me to understand.
Great features.

I will have another DNA sample done by a different company and compare results. I have done my Genealogy back to 1510 on one side of the family and that whole geographical area is missing on this test.

I'm Amazed!

I am truly amazed at what 23andMe told me about myself. I was surprised at the many things that it got right about me. It was so cool finding out my historical matches and finding out there was so much Viking in my ancestors. My husband's historical matches were only 5 and mine turned up 17, which I would have expected more Viking in his than mine because he is such a big man, and I'm a little short thing. So I found that to be utterly hysterical. But seriously, it tests for a lot of diseases and genetic variants. I know now that I do not have the BRAC-A 1 or 2 genes out of all the variants they tested, and I did not have the variant for Parkinson's Disease, which I am so grateful for. The Premium has been well worth what I found out. I have been most pleased with 23andMe thus far. I would love it if it found more historical matches for me.

I think that 23 & me does a good job, I just didn't realize how many questions I needed to answer etc. to get information. I thought it was just going to be spitting in the tube. You need to commit time and have a lot of knowledge of things, in order for them to provide info.
