I bought this a month ago and I’m happy I made the purchase. I bought my children one for Christmas last year. I hope to get more family members to do this.

I used this service to get ancestral information on myself because I am adopted. The only information I had was that my birth mother is Irish and my birth father was dark skinned. The information 23andMe gave me was less helpful than the information I already have.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
