Totally worth it

My wife got me an ancestry test as a surprise. It was amazingly simple to use, and to set up my account. The results were clear, precise, and much more detailed than I had expected. Now we want to get hers done too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Results Too Broad

The results were too broad and vague and likely incorrect. It showed no Native American ancestry and I do have at least 1/32 degree Cherokee.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. It is important to note that sometimes, even if a person's great, great grandmother, for instance, was considered to be Native American, the DNA does not reveal the Native American ancestry because evidence is lost each generation. In general, however, Native American ancestry within the last few generations is likely to reveal itself through our features.
Keep in mind that our Native American reference population does not include all Native American groups or tribes. Thus, not all Native American ancestry will necessarily be revealed in your results.

Expensive with limited utility or information

You get 41 reports on carrier variants for specific diseases/conditions -- all very rare. This is valuable. You get ancestry reports (eg European/African/ etc). There 26 Traits & Wellness reports which are just correlation based predictive reports based on your ancestry. For example, "your ancestry mix has a xx% of having a longer ring finger than index finger." Kind of interesting -- but worth $200???
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There were some genuine surprises here. As an adopted child I had never really got a whole lot of information about my natural family beyond what I could recall.

Thank you for your feedback. You can print a summary of your health reports by selecting Print on the Health Overview page. Additionally, a PDF version of each health report is available by selecting the Printable Version link in the summary section of the report.
Although there is not currently a printable version of your ancestry reports, there are two features that allow you to download a file of your matches - DNA Relatives and Countries of Ancestry. In DNA Relatives, you will find a link toward the top right of the webpage titled Download.

Amazing outcomes with just your saliva!!

I was adopted as an infant so I don't know who my bio parents are. The day I got my results back. I sent a message to my possible relatives; thinking I wouldn't get a response for possibly 6 months!! I received a response from a "2nd cousin" that same day! Talk about excitement!!!!!! I am that much closer to finding my bio parents! The results of the test are amazing and in such detail!
I would recommend this to a friend!
