Thought I would find out about my family tree but in order to find out more about your family ancestry they have to be in the data base.

Have to pay for results!

The test I purchased was not cheap, and then I find out that I have to put a card on file to view my results and only have access to them for a year unless I give more money even though I consented to continue using my sample for additional tests. This information was not made very clear up front/when purchased. Seems a little backwards to me, aren't the results what I was paying for when I bought the test? The app is not super user friendly in my opinion.

Told me nothing new

I learned nothing new and regret spending so much money for something that was not very extensive. I'm a cancer survivor, significantly genetically predisposed and there was nothing indicated by 23 and me. I have other health disorders, none indicated on the 23 and me report. My money could've been better spent elsewhere.

The description of the product made it seem like it tested for exact genes and then told you what genes you have....It doesn't do this...it just shows a possible likelihood of different things out there.

I bought this product a few months ago and I am so glad that I did. It tells you a lot about potential health issues and geographical location of DNA and also lists a few other 23 and Me members who have relatable DNA. Very happy!

Sub standards

I see it as a generic form of genetics that are not well-analyzed. I see many of my friends are related to me by claiming that they are my distant cousins, etc & it doesn't match my first cousin’s analysis of our family tree. This study isn't impressive & is substandard to what other studies show. The cost of this study exceeds the worth of finding results which I found worse than the family tree that my cousin created. It’s like getting a factory-lined test.

Learning new things and found my adopted sister

I purchased this in Jan as a late Chris gift for myself. I did it for the health information with a slight interest in DNA matches. My results came back and my half sister who was adopted at birth was the first match! We have been able to connect and start to build a relationship! She is 54 and I am turning 44! Crazy the similarities and we never knew one another!
