I am new to 23 & Me so I haven't opened all areas yet. I was surprised that there was a membership charge.

WASTE! Thought it'd be better

I bought this because i had heard a family member did it a couple years ago. Turns out they didn't use this site. Anyways, I got my results quicker than they said I would, which was nice. But almost half of the things they reported I may or may not be likely to get was incredibly wrong - it's almost like they just used my answers to the questionnaire and flipped them. I honestly would recommend using Ancestry DNA over this because you'll have a greater chance of finding your relatives and history. Truly a waste of money

I connected with two people and I still can't see there family tree.
I don't get notices when a new relative is discovered.
I find that I get more information and photos from Ancestry.com.
I bought kits for my wife, son and brother as well. They are afraid to register and use them because of your sensitive data leak. They won't use them and now I'm stuck with unused kits.

This is the second DNA testing company I have tried and the first (CRI) had way more information and more legitimate science and accuracy than 23 and Me. I only tried 23 and Me because the first one I used does not connect you with family members like 23 and Me. Overall, this is an okay product with basic information and way too many questions for the pricing (you're supposed to tell me what you find, not ask me over 600 questions). Would recommend if you're trying to find family, but not for great results.

Beware I purchased the kit + annual membership 2 months ago & was charged again for another year membership and have to prove it by sending them a copy of my charge
