Excellent Product

After submitting my sample, I was surprised how fast my profile came back. I had used Ancestry DNA, but 23andme is so much more exact. They nailed it. Great job, and I recommend them to anyone wanting to find out about their history or medical condition.

I've been a member for a few years. Your original site was much more user friendly. I also feel I had more connections in the beginning. I am no longer getting the emails with new connections. Have you put a cap on it? I like the feel of opening the site to see the bar at the top with the relationships ie 5 Close; 30 1st Cousins, etc. An added fun bonus was the app that turned your DNA to a short piano piece. These things are all missed in the newest release. I feel newbies I recommend to your current site would be lost.

Cool but not worth the price

I was dissapointed when I got the results. The genetic background was much more generalized thanot I'd hoped for (e.g. my results said I was 33% western european but didn't specify countries within that 33%). My own fault I guess bc I didn't read thoroughly but if you're a female I don't think you get your full lineage. Do your research first.
Overall it was cool but I don't think the $200 price tag for both tests was worth it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So easy with wonderful privacy features!

I had lunch with a colleague where he raved about 23andMe. He convinced me I should give it a try and I am so glad he did! The DNA kit was so easy to follow and return. The emails were friendly and fun to read. It was a great experience. I am buying one for each of my kids for Christmas next year!

The sample and information were quick and easy to accomplish. The results are in depth and well explained. It is fun to add family and see what is in common. There are plenty of features you can add. There are options to contribute to research that will help others and yourself.

Thank you for your feedback. 23andMe offers one of the detailed ancestry composition reports on the market today. You can find out about your ancestral origins, what percent of your DNA comes from populations around the world, your maternal and paternal lines and your neanderthal percentage.
Also keep in mind, in your Ancestry Composition report you can view a full list of the reference populations by clicking the blue "See all 31 tested populations" link under your Ancestry Composition results.

Saved time & money...

The results provided the information I needed after YEARS of costly and largely unproductive treatment. IMO, well worth the small investment for anyone struggling with unexplained health issues .

We have been exceptionally happy with 23andMe. It was recommended to me by a doctor and I am so happy I followed her advice. Great service. Most interesting results and most helpful! My whole family is going to apply for their own kit now ! :) Thank you for everything 23andMe!
