I purchased my 23andMe DNA package about a month ago. I was very excited to see everything obtained about me through my DNA. I knew my heritage was mixed with other nationalities however; I was surprised to see the percentage of other races I was mixed with. This has helped me with finding the right products for my hair type.

Decent but not entirely what I wanted

I took a DNA test through 23&me. I was pleased with the relatives and connections. That part was very accurate and some family questions were answered. However, I was and still am most curious about my ethnicity. 25.5% of my DNA came back unspecified Northwest European. That's over a quarter of my DNA. Now I'm forced to take another DNA test through a different company in hopes of getting a more accurate report concerning my ethnicity.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I would like to see more ways to identify relatives. The star feature works well, but only can be used for one set of relatives, you have no way of seperating others branches of your family.

Found a sister!

I love the detailed breakdown of the DNA. My results included trace ancestry and small percentages that other DNA services did not find. Best of all, I discovered a half sister I never knew I had! She had been looking for her birth family for some time through genealogy research, but 23&Me matched us up as half sisters without a doubt. We are so happy to have found each other! I can say for me, 23&Me is one of the best things I’ve ever done.

I know who I am

I bought this to figure out who my biological father was. After researching all the names that came up I finally found someone who could tell me a lot more on where I came from which led me to finding out who my biological father was. It was a success for me.
