Found a sister!

My husband bought 23andMe for our anniversary last year. A few distant cousins here and there, nothing too crazy. I was more interested in finding out the rest of my genetic make-up. I knew my grandparents came over to American in 1912, but it was interesting to find out the rest of me. The real excitement came when I received a message from a woman who was predicted to be my half-sister. After hours of talking and researching, we found out that my father had given a baby up for adoption in the late 60s and it was indeed my long-lost sister. Thank you 23andMe for this wonderful news.

Received this a year ago. Awesome to see what I am made up of and I really enjoy it. I think messaging could be more up to date. Just found out about a part of the family that I never knew about. I have mixed emotions about it, but we move forward. We will see what is to happen now.

Fantastic way to find long lost relatives!

It was interesting and enlightening to get my results back. The process was extremely easy. Just mailed in my specimen and waited a few weeks. The website is easy to navigate and I love finding new connections.

I originally was curious about my ancestry. I have found many surprises and still looking for more. I have a sister that was adopted away from the core family and long to find her. Please tell everyone to take a chance and learn about their ancestry! Thankful for finding cousins I didn’t know were out there. What a fun surprise.
