Better than nothing, fun experience

I did the 23andMe mainly for health reasons and now people are telling me that the 23andMe results are no good for any medical reason. I was also hoping I would get a lot more health and medical advice from my 23andMe reports.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this to have a more precise breakdown of my DNA. Neither was there any mention of any close relatives matched by DNA.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You receive 65+ personalized genetic reports to help you understand what your DNA says about your health, traits and ancestry.

Very happy with the produce and recommend that you try it. 23Xme was very helpful when the sample I first sent was insufficient they immediately informed me and sent a new kit.

An Amazing Look At Your Past

I bought the ancestry test and have literally been amazed at the results. All my life I was told I was half Italian on my father's side. We even have an Italialn name and 23and Me identified that I have NO Italian genetics. But I do have Native American and African in my genes along with my southern euroopean ancestry.

It was very interesting to see the ancestry, health, personal traits and medical information presented in the results. The ancestry was pretty much on mark for both my parents' history.

Eye opening...

Both me and my wife did our DNA samples. We had such a great and informative time learning about our ancestors. There were some surprises that us and our friends and family have gotten a laugh out of.

Not that much information

I was unimpressed with the information provided. I don't need to know if I have the gene for detached earlobes. Nor is it helpful to know that I am likely not bald (even if that were true). Perhaps it would have been different if I had a genetic marker for a disease, but it told me almost nothing I didn't already know. And when it did give me new information, it was still only "likely" or "probably". Not worth the $200 for me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
