I was so excited to find out about my nationalities!!
I havent had very good luck getting my compatable family members to respond tho.Ive had a couple of dead ends

Found siblings after 65 years!

As an adoptee raised as an only child, I was just looking for some answers about heritage and ancestry. I got much more. 23andMe introduced me to a 1st cousin who introduced me to 5 younger siblings - after 65 years. Thanks 23andMe.

I'm lucky I had a brother who is a blood relative and for Christmas last year I got us both the kits. Wonderful information surfaced I had no prior knowledge of...and, the number of distant cousins is just staggering! I have been able to rekindle a relationship with my Mother's Sister's Daughter, so will be forever grateful to 23and Me for that. I highly recommend this to anyone who will listen. The big surprise for me in the results was that I have a percentage of Native American, small percentage, but still it's there. So I believe man came to American much longer ago than our history books suggest. It's so exciting to see what 23andMe will do next!

I find it difficult

I need to compare lots of people..this five at a time is nuts. I tend to not use this program, although I am sure it has features I just have not learned about. I want an overall program, similar to gedmatch, that allows you to search by first name (all the patricks or joses or knutes), or last name, or country of origin. I do like that X is automatically included in results.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A learning Experience

I have always known my general racial mix from my family tree, but to know it in detail and the surprise low percent D&As and locations make it doubly interesting and informative.

Learning more

I'm looking forward to learning more about my genetic background location in Ireland and about my ancestors. I need to learn more about how to use 23 and me better. I also would like to to begin understand more about genetic nomadic movement in the world. Suggestions please.

I've thoroughly enjoyed 23andMe very much. The information I've received about my ancestry, health, etc. has been invaluable - many questions about my family origins have been answered. I've also enjoyed completing the questionnaires - it gives me a positive feeling of contributing to genetic research.
