Confusing

Found out that I have a first cousin that I don’t know. No family names make sense except one. Very confusing to read the reports. Very little information to review.

It.was.a.christmas.gift.and.iwas.glad.to.see.the.results.when.they.came.i.knew.there.was.more.to.the.story.than.dad.and.his.german.indian.story.

I got 23andMe a while back and have since connected with family that I never knew I had! It's helped with my family ancestry work and I find that it helps me learn more of what makes me who I am.

Confirmation, and then some...

I have been doing genealogical research into my family for the past 20 years. I've come across some hurdles and some interesting twists and turns. The information I gathered, and the trails I followed, were only as good as the records I was able to find. After receiving my 23andMe DNA results, I was pleasantly surprised that much of the information I gathered on my ancestry was confirmed. In addition to confirmation of my years of research, I was also excited to find new ancestral ties to peoples I never knew existed. 23andMe has reinvigorated my search to connect the dots and rebuild the story of my family tree. My results have shown how interconnected we are as humans living on Earth, and how small the world really is...Love it!

fun features !!

I was given this as a Christmas gift but waited a few months to submit. I've been paired up with TONS of possible and definite relatives. I wish 3 things. (1) The raw DNA would connect to another DNA sight. (2) People would reply to messages when you try to connect your trees. (3) This sight allowed you to create a tree of a couple hundred relatives to help guide with the connecting of trees and to see a further lineage. This sight is super easy to use and FULL of information about ones heritage.

Lost &b New Family

23andme has helped me to reconnect with lost family, helped me to gain a 1/2 sister i didn't know I had, as well as a larger family pool of cousin's and seeing how we are ALL connected

The website is very confusing to use

Trying to use the website is a disaster and it keeps flipping you to buying additional products and surveys instead of easily finding what you click a link to find.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Intriguing Journey Through One's Existence

I have had my 23andMe results for about a month; I have never enjoyed anything so much in my life. I have learned so much, connected with DNA matches, discovered so many things about my ancestors, broadened my horizons beyond anything I thought could happen. I recommend this to anyone who wants to learn and have great fun doing it!
