Not easy to use; Family tree

I find whole site hard to use compared to others I use. A simple example is that I uploaded my personal family tree when I first joined. Now I can't even find it. What use is uploading if not usable for relative comparisons. Help screen is completely useless. It takes you out of site. Way too much emphasis on health. Would still recommend because of estimates for Y and mtDNA included in ancestry price. Had to pay much more and pay for special SNP testing to get same estimate at other provider.

Puzzling results

I used 23 and me and my brother used another company. 23 said I was 12.5 pct French, my brothers result was zero. He was listed as 17.5 pct. Scandinavian and mine was .07 pct. something is askew and I think it’s the tests themselves.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. It is not uncommon to receive varying results between different ancestry analyses. Different companies can utilize reference data from varying sources. For example, 23andMe uses reference individuals from within our customer base to help define the reference populations used in Ancestry Composition. You are able to view the data sources for Ancestry Composition by clicking on the population and selecting Show Details.

Every time I click on "Share and Compare" I get the error message, "We had an issue retrieving your data. Please try again later." Will later ever come?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was gifted the 23andme DNA kit by my wife. She knows i have investigated my family through numerous sources including national archives and US census state historical societies. I also grew up and raised by my parents grandparents and great grandparents. I have photos and historical accounts dating back generation's. But it appears the 23and me data does not reflect the data i have and research ed for years.

Found out I have a brother

Little did I know when I sent off my sample that 6 weeks later I would find out that I have a half brother! I was completely in shock for about 30 seconds while staring at the results. I sent a message to him and we have been in contact with each other ever since. We have met in person and it was amazing! We only live about a hour from each other. I’m so thankful that I received 23andme last Christmas, best present EVER!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing Journey

My husband purchase 23andme for a gift. I was excited to find out where my great grandparents were born and their family history. I had no clue that I would connect with a niece of my half sister. I was born out of wedlock and did not know the names or where my 4 sisters or 3 brothers were living. I also found out I have a 4th brother that was conceived by another woman and was adopted. I am 65 years old and never thought this would be revealed but what an amazing journey this is turning out to be. I have spoken to two of my sisters and plan to visit all of my half siblings. This would never be possible without the DNA through 23andme.
I would recommend this to a friend!
