Good parts and bad

The first reports indicated a native american ancestor which was hinted at by previous geneological research. However the "new" analysis has removed it and reports instead a middle eastern ancestor where none was indicated before. Its made me a little leary of the other results. Hope you keep improving the analysis.

I’m so glad that I have taken my dna test. Now I’ll be able to learn about all of my heritage but what would make it better is if you could research family records and have it kinda like ancestry

Easy to use, quick and reliable results!

When the kit arrives it is very easy to understand the instructions and how to set up an account online. After mailing in the saliva sample it was around 3 and a half weeks for the whole process and to receive my results. The percentage results are excellent and more or less on point from what my family knew beforehand, along with a few surprises and larger percentages than what we had thought. The DNA Relatives tool is also fantastic, allowing us to connect with family easily and is great fun to explore distant connections to cousins we would have otherwise never known we had.
The biggest, and pretty much only negative, for me is that part of my results were not as fleshed out as I had hoped. A large portion, approximately 40%, of my dna composition is native american but there is little detail about specific origins for this area. In explaining their apparent inability to more accurately distinguish native american ancestry, there is a statement on the page for my results saying, "In North America Native American ancestry tends to be 5 or more generations back, so that little DNA evidence of this heritage remains." While I am disappointed with this part of my results the rest were fine, with a great level of detail in areas like Europe.
All in all I highly recommend 23andme. I cannot speak to the quality and experience of the Health and Wellness kit results as I have not yet purchased it, however my family and I have greatly enjoyed the DNA Ancestry kit and are now getting the rest of our family to participate. I imagine the experience will only improve as more family becomes involved. 5 out of 5 stars for 23andme! Thank you very much.

23&Me is amazing I loved. But One thing would like to be change that's wish can tell your health in Box and not two other box. and Wish that's tell you hair color or How tall are?

Unexpected surprise!

I was adopted and bought the kit to get a little more information on my heritage. You guys gave me that and so much more! I now have two brothers, two sisters and cousins galore. Hard to describe the feeling when your family tree looks more like a stick and suddenly it grows to maturity before your eyes. Very grateful to all of you. You have changed my life!

Making the connection

23andme has been a wonderful experience. I've connected with many distant cousins that I would have never found otherwise. I have an extensive family tree to share with my cousins. A few of my distant cousins I met on this site worked together with me and we have traced our ancestry back 14 generations to find the common relatives. How cool is that? Many of my cousins share some of the same interests I have: writing, photography, the arts and enjoying life. Being an only child and the last of my line I've loved reaching out and meeting people. Thank you 23andme!
