Unexpected surprise!

I was adopted and bought the kit to get a little more information on my heritage. You guys gave me that and so much more! I now have two brothers, two sisters and cousins galore. Hard to describe the feeling when your family tree looks more like a stick and suddenly it grows to maturity before your eyes. Very grateful to all of you. You have changed my life!

Making the connection

23andme has been a wonderful experience. I've connected with many distant cousins that I would have never found otherwise. I have an extensive family tree to share with my cousins. A few of my distant cousins I met on this site worked together with me and we have traced our ancestry back 14 generations to find the common relatives. How cool is that? Many of my cousins share some of the same interests I have: writing, photography, the arts and enjoying life. Being an only child and the last of my line I've loved reaching out and meeting people. Thank you 23andme!

I'm not sure how true these results are. If my grandma is 100% native american, and my mother is 50% then how can I only be at a 0.1%. My Grandpa is 100% polish on my moms side. So my mom is 50/50. Now my dads side is viking blood which is in there. I just don't get where the native american bloodline went.

I had wondered so long about being Norwegian, and 23 and me pinpointed to that fact. Now my kids and other family enjoy my 23 and me report.

Lost family members found

23 and me has allowed me to connect with close relatives that have lead to the discovery of my father’s paternal side. Also, allowing me to discover my paternal grandmother’s paternal side. My father only knew one of his four grandparents. Now he knows all four of his grandparents and our family tree is much larger than before. We’re now able to understand connections with other people on 23 and me, and have answers about our family history that we never had before.
