My mother always said I was Heinz 57.....she was kinda right. I contacteed a couple cousins who I remembered from childhood. Neither remembered me. Kinda a bummer but all good :)

Specific and Simple

It told me the most specific way it can about my ancestry reports and also how simple it is. It was easy to operate the website/app without having to look up how to operate the website/app

i was excited to get this done,although i have doubts....first off one person came up as a half brother,that was cool! but it also showed him as my sister half brother..this is not correct..im adopted and ..my sister dad was her dad,my mom only had 5 of us..so something is not right.. and there is no secret kids born..so it put a big doubt in my head .. but over all it is a very interesting ..thing to understand my make up inside me and i find it rather interesting.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was looking for more detailed information for my husband and myself. This report was interesting but extremely vague. As an African American it is important to me to trace my history. I can only trace back to my great great grandparents.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Keep in mind that your results are a living analysis. Using thousands of reference individuals we are able to continually evolve and improve your results. As we update our reference data, it will not be uncommon to see slight shifts in your results over time.
We recently concluded an African Genetics Project to help advance our research on African ancestry. Our aim is to help people make new discoveries about their African identity by way of their DNA.

Advantage vs. disadvantage

The advantages are many and very interesting. Knowing not only who you are but who you aren’t is valuable. The main disadvantage is linking with other family members that have names and other information that helps establish a timeline with known names and dates. That would make 23andMe a complete knockout product for me.
