Finding Me!

I bought two-kits months ago, one for me and for my mother. It sat on my dresser day after day waiting for me to pick it up, I was hesitant, maybe a little afraid of what I might discover about me. Eventually, I sent the kit in and in 4 weeks I got my results. I was somewhat surprised, because I knew I had African Ancestry, but not British/Irish at such a high percentage. The results have given me a more clearer picture of who I am and allowed me to connect to relatives all over the world. I'm still researching and navigating through the website. I've found some nuggets of information that I can share with my family. The second kit will be given to my brother. I'd like to see what his results will be. This product is certainly a gateway to discover who and what you are. It allowed for me validation and gave me a sense of importance to humanity. I would have liked to have known what country in Africa I'm connected to, that would have been amazing for me.

Quick, efficient, mostly results that I expected with a few surprises. ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I have not tried other DNA tests yet and so I have no basis for comparison. However, I have no complaints!

Accomplished my Goal

I purchased my kit in November, but did not give the sample until the beginning of December. I received my results mid January & was shocked, yet excited. My ultimate goal was to find my biological father. After connecting with a 2nd cousin I was able to find him after 2.5 months of research. It's been a long 30 years of not knowing, but now I'm completely satisfied. A major void has been filled. Thank you 23andme!!

Life-Changing Purchase

My mom bought my sister and I both a kit and we sent them in and within a short time we got our results back. For 19 years my twin sister and I thought we were fraternal twins, but after our results came back, we were shocked. We were, in fact, identical twins. My parents thought said that the doctors told them that we were fraternal, but everyone always questioned my parents. Multiple people told my parents "Your girls are the most identical fraternal twins I have ever seen". After we started college, more people said that there was no way that we were fraternal. This had my sister and I, as well as our parents, questioning it as well, so we turned to 21 and Me. I can honestly say that this product changed our lives for the better. We can confidently say that we are identical twins.

This is amazing

I am so excited to connect with other's in my DNA family. I am having so much fun with the information I have been given by the test and the people I have connected with. Truly amazing how it pin pointed my family right down to the small town in Italy. I have been able to go back to the 1700's so far. I highly recommend using 23 and me.

Great to meet relatives that I never knew exited

My Mother bought the DNA test for me for Christmas. I have always been interested. In my families past. Since, I have been contacted by cousins on my Father's, and my Mother's side. I never expected it. According to the family history on both sides everything seems to jibe. All of us are trying to put everything into line.
It is also was interesting about my genetic history. I did not know I had Irish as well Scandinavian(sp) background, as well as the Germanic and Eastern European that I knew that I had. I have found out that that I do have a rich history!

Amazing insights into the lost tracks of our elder

Today, I have much higher confidence in my health due to the insights presented by the 23andme provided information as it disseminates from all over the world research community and is gathered and shared with the genomes of various world-wide community. 23andme has done a remarkable job in obtaining such new information for the presence of various markers in the genomes of various communities and their probabilities of occurrence in similar DNA relatives or presence of associated markers for various locations and similar populations.
Although, the highly intriguing and the awe-inspiring information that 23andme has I provided me over the last ten years or so on the origins of my families, my esteemed ancestors our halpogroups, our elders movement over the past few centuries, their ethnic groups, languages spoken and the faiths practiced by them. This information now follows discovery of circa 70 DNA relatives, and the ongoing communication with the newly found enthralling and exciting relatives is an amazing hard-to-believe facts which have greatly but pleasantly surprised my family members and myself.
MMy recent rejoicing interactions with the new-found relatives have been so captivating and enticing that they have now provided me a great purpose in my senior years to work for and organize the family history for as far back as possible and leave it as a legacy for our future generations to quench their desire to know the past family elders their way of life, their value-systems, their life styles, and the family values and their unique and specific qualities, admirable traits and qualities. This, I believe, will be a source of great contentment and pride in their most recent nearest relatives for various known locations of the family's travels, their professions, acts of valor, courage, integrity, service and kindness. In the future, this would serve as our elders legacy and the information about their way of life would serve as a wonderful source of the role models for our progeny.
We are currently making concerted efforts to have the composite Health and Ancestry DNA data analysis done by 23andme for the senior most people for our current Seniors in our families. I highly recommend the readers to seriously consider utilizing the 23andme quality and superior services and organize and utilize the attendant numerous benefits sooner than later and have a head start in availing the available information to have the family move forward without further loss of time.
