Ancestory Reports Should Be Available To All

While my results were predictable, my children had fun reviewing reports they received from their fathers side, some of which were very fun and unexpected! It's so interesting to trace your family line with more than paper.

Fun to see I am connected to so many folks, but mostly 2 or 3 cousins. Noted 45 new ones added today but when reviewed same number and list I got originally, cousins son did test but do not see him on relative list?

The timeline is not right, only one was right was the : German & French

Thank you for your feedback. Your Ancestry Timeline reflects the ancestry assignments in your Ancestry Composition report. This feature is intended to estimate when a particular ancestry entered your family tree, and assumes that you had one specific ancestor who descended from a single population.
The estimates you see within your timeline are based on the length of the DNA segments assigned to each of your populations. As you randomly inherit 50% of your DNA from each parent, the predictions you see in your Timeline may vary depending which specific DNA segments you inherited from your parents.

I wish 23andme could further break down the Native American ancestry report and narrow it much more into different tribes or groups. Native American stretches anymore from the Southern tip of Chile to Northern Canada. It is far too broad to be meaningful.

Accuracy of timeline

I have a question on the accuracy of the timeline I have found a secound cousin who I am certain is related to through a Major Generaral who fought in the American Revolution and came from Great Britain I would not know this but for the fact that I inherited the family tree recently developed by that family While I am closely related to that name she is not I only know because she is on that tree However your timeline has my British heritage beginning in the 1800s I know I have heritage that goes back to the UK through several generations back to the 1700s

23&Me is great! As a comparison, I tried another DNA company to see if I could obtain additional info from another source. I was very disappointed with the results and lack of information provided. 23 & me is easy to use, accurate and provides detailed reports. I highly recommend it!

Genetics and ancestry were seldom to never discussed in my family. My siblings and I were unaware of family lines beyond aunts, uncles and first cousins. My 23andme profile has filled in a lot of blanks and answered a lot of questions, not only for me but for other blood relatives. Through 23andme I have been informed of the existence of near relatives about which I knew nothing and have managed to make some contacts. That would not have been possible without 23andme.
