Was given this kit as a Mothers Day gift. Couldn't be any more excited. So far to date I have over 1100 relatives I never knew existed! Going to need a bigger venue for the next family reunion!!!! Great job 23 and Me!!

Love that I did this! I love knowing where my pieces came from. Some were expected, others not so much. Crazy to think about all those ethnicities mixing at that that precise moment in time.
I've also been in contact with previously unknown family members & uncovered new family histories. I found that my family is scattered much wider than I could have ever imagined & as close as the next town over.
It is truly mind boggling.

Navigating through the past.

Survey questions

In surveys you ask about diseases trying to find out if there is a family history, but more times than not you do not mention the symptoms. You do on the more common diseases, but not the ones that may be attributed to ethnic diseases. Please be consistent.

Found Aunts, Cousins, and Father!

I decided to give this service a shot just to see what my background is, not knowing that a whirlwind of adventure was coming my way. After reaching out to relatives and doing extensive searches for about a month, I was able to figure out the family links that I had been looking for my whole life. Thirty Four years of not knowing who half of my blood family and Father is has ended and they've all welcomed me with open arms. What once was hidden, now is found!

Missed Some Regions

You missed my Southern European and non-European ancestry. Three other DNA companies found it. Other than that, the product is fine.

I believe firmly in 23andMe goals, through genetics they have opened the door of posibilities for all human beings in gaining access to their true health. testing my DNA contributes a drop in the bucket to the big research but it contributes a huge lake to my own health. their ancestry reports have helped me finding relatives to get close to my goal of finding my paternal lineage and family.
I would recommend this to a friend!
