i'm happy i got 23 and me. i found out i got British and Irish and French and German and Scandinavian. don't know where British and Scandinavian come from , but makes me want more. i will have my brother get his soon. thank you 23 and me.

I got this as a birthday gift from my girlfriend, and I couldn't be happier. It was so easy to send my sample in, and I've learned so many interesting things about my genetics! I even connected with some distance cousins I didn't know existed!

Too broad, not specific to any region

I was slightly disappointed with the lack of specificity as to where my ancestors were from. My results were broad, and I guess this is due to the fact the 23andme is fairly new, but if that's the case they should charge less for their services. In all fairness did not opt for the health portion, and from what I've read, they are great in that regard, but ancestry wise I feel for the results you get, they should decrease the price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. Our Ancestry Composition report will tell you what percent of your DNA comes from each of 31 populations worldwide. The population labels in Ancestry Composition refer to genetically similar groups, rather than nationalities. In general, we sought to make the populations as small as possible, subject to the constraint of being able to distinguish between them. Populations may be inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart.

DNA relatives and haplogroup groups sort

There needs to be a way to sort. I'm adopted and 70 so I have very little information to go by.

Thank you for your feedback. You can view your relative’s haplogroup assignments by clicking on their name in your DNA Relatives list and scrolling to the Haplogroups section of the Compare page. You are also able to use the Search Keywords bar located to the right of your DNA Relatives list to sort your matches by haplogroup.

i bought this kit probably a month or so ago! it sure answered most of my questions when i got my results back. was only told about german and welsh so now i know there's that plus more.
