It Will Be Fun One Day

23andMe is ... frustrating. I want it to be so much more than it is. Not only is there very little actual information to be gleamed for a pretty steep price, but the website is super frustrating to use, terribly designed, not user friendly. Sharing and comparing requires many steps and back and forths. Finding relatives does too. And they outsourced the family tree function to MyHeritage! That being said, I still enjoy the little I have learned. I have connected with some super cool distant cousins that have helped me fill out my family tree. And I have hope that the website will improve and the information will get better, with perhaps more traits and less medical info.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Got this as a gift from my daughter, and I love it! My mother, my 93 year old grandmother, my sister, and my cousin are all doing it now too! Finding out so much cool stuff! This has been something that has brought us closer together!

I got this as a Christmas present and love it. All the reports are easy to read and everything is really straight-forward. There are even links to other resources within each report in case you need them. They are constantly updating the types of reports as well, and you get updated results when they do.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wonderful and informative

I loved my detailed results and that fact they update it when new info comes out! My dr also loves having all my information to view through 23andMe. I know i sound like a scripted review robot haha but this is genuinely a cool thing to learn about your genes,health, and ancestors!

Was so easy to send in my sample and it help me find some unknown relatives and verified others. Plus informed me about some health issues I was unaware of. Have given kits to many relatives.

Family Member Discovered!

I primarily did 23andme for the health reports. When I got my results back, I was delighted and surprised to find that I had a half-sister that no one living in my family knew about. She had been searching for family for a number of years, and had discovered enough detail about her birth mother that when I looked at her profile, I knew (DNA aside) that she was my half-sister. I have two other half-sisters who I've had contact with since my birth (our mother died right after my birth), and they are also beyond excited to find a new half-sister.

This is cool!! I was surprised about the amazing stories that keep get revealed by this analysis. My children were thinking of not reproducing because they were worried about "bad genes" It was wonderful to share with them that I don't seem to have any, basically zero. It was also entertaining to discover I am part Neandertal
