In Need of Clarity

I had the impression that the DNA results would be more about my immediate ancestors/family (mother & father) than from people a zillion years before my great grand parents birth.
I give it a low score about recommending 23 & Me because of the above statement. My plan was to have my two daughters and my wife do this after I had received my results. Still, I asked them would you like to have this done for you? Their reply was absolute and stated "... that sure was a waste of money... ".
But, if you are looking for information about were your DNA started a zillion years ago then, by all means this test does just that and in living color too.

It was so exciting to examine my heritage and compare my results to information we already knew about our family line. It was also fun to see the couple of surprises which we were not expecting. I guess I have some more research to do!
