Excellent to find your DNA

For me, the results were rapid. The only information that wasn't clear was the aside that you will be exploring the X chromosome and add that information later. What? How effective is the DNA overall, how accurate is the information if X is not half of the equation?
Otherwise My husband returned his sample three weeks before I did and hasn't received his results within the agreed time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do not take it too seriously

A friend of mind gave this to me as a gift because I had been wanting to do it for some time. When I saw the questions being asked at the sign-up to send in sample, I answered the questions as "Unknown" or Don't know. Well, I do know, but I wanted to have the sample checked without bias. Well, my results came back so weird and off that you would think it was mixed up in the lab? As an example of one of the so "wrong" details, it said I would have curly hair and red! Well, I have very fine straight black hair? So, if you want to do it for fun, great but I wouldn't put much into it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. While there is a short ethnicity questionnaire that is associated with your profile information, these answers are not used to generate your ancestry results.
The data that we report is strictly genetic information regarding your genotype (e.g. the A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s at particular locations in your genome), generated through processing of your saliva by 23andMe. Participation in surveys is completely voluntary. Choosing not to participate will not affect your genetic data.
The Trait reports provide your likelihood of having certain characteristics. You can learn how your DNA affects your hair color, taste preferences and more. While many traits are highly influenced by genetics, there are other non-genetic factors that affect the expression of certain traits.
To learn more about a trait, navigate to the result of interest and scroll to the About section. This section will tell you the description, biology, and non-genetic factors that are associated with the feature.

I'm glad I did this. It's nice to know my origins.
Finding out that I am small percentages of ancestors I didn't know where part of my genealogy is intriguing.

Simple, straightforward process. Quick results. Would have enjoyed more detail in my sub-saharan ancestry but it was overall a very good experience. Definitely would recommend.
