I have really enjoyed learning about both my heritage as well as the medical genetic issues. Who knew I had so much Neanderthal genetic material in me? Now I have some more learning to do :)

I was captivated when I first saw the 23andMe YouTube videos with 60 some participants, who came with pre conceived notions and beliefs and then everything changed through the DNA test. I learned much about myself that I never realized existed, some I did but mostly nothing beats a confirmation from your own chromosomes. It's been a wonderful journey taken with my boyfriend, who agreed to take this test with me. My boyfriend is adopted, but it was my curiousity and desire to know more of where I come from, that made us take this journey together. My kit was a Christmas present opened on a holiday while waking up in bed. I remember looking at the box and looking at him and saying, "this is the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me." Thank you, 23andMe.

Great genetic profiles

I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife and myself. The results surprised my wife. We found out her genetics proved she was from one particular people's group instead of the group she had believed she was from her entire life.
