Interesting, but made less so by business model.

My kit was a Christmas gift from a relative. It was interesting seeing the results once they came back, but the drive of the company to "upsell" me for information that might be useful left me feeling disappointed. The information provided by the kit test confirmed what I already knew from my family tree. Medical information would have been great, but not so much that I'm going to pay what 23 & Me is asking for it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. 23andMe currently offers two services: Health + Ancestry, and Ancestry. If you are interested in receiving health-related reports, you are able to upgrade to our US Health + Ancestry Service from within your account online for $125.

Affordable and interesting

My husband and I both purchased an ancestry package and we really loved it. The price is a affordable and the results come in a timely manner.

I never imagined how interesting it would be to learn more about my DNA and ethnic make-up. The timeline aspect was particularly fascinating: to learn when certain ancestors appeared in my family history was amazing!
