Some good features

Was curious about my ancestry and inherited medical risks. Cost is a bit pricey but info keeps being sent so I guess it's worth the cost,

Excellent knowledge for me and daughter

I'm very happy with 23andme because it's very comprehensive. I already bought it for my husband, my daughter and her husband. He learned that although he thought it was 100% Italian, he found he has some middle eastern traces.

No suprises, but not a lot of information

I know that there is a tremendous amount of information that can be gleaned from a DNA sample, but I was surprised about the very limited information provided by 23andMe. Simply a report of percentages of this and that. No information about timeframes except a disclaimer that Neanderthal percentage cannot be determined.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A few of the findings were interesting, but too many worthless traits. Does anyone really care whether they are inclined to have dry or wet ear wax? I was hoping to find out many more SUBSTANTIAL things about my DNA and heritage. Most of this stuff is just not useful or interesting.

Thank you for your feedback. The 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service is the first and only genetic service available directly to you that includes reports that meet FDA standards. You now are able to receive 65+ reports on health, traits and ancestry instead of exclusively ancestry reports.
We will continue to work with the FDA to seek additional clearances for our product. However we are not able to speculate about changes to reports, or what may be available in the future, given our dialogue with the FDA is ongoing.
