I'm really happy of the experience I had with 23andMe. The website is great and very easy to navigate. I really appreciated the haplotypes information and the opportunity to go over your raw DNA, along with other interesting tools. Would definitely recommend 23andMe.

I was quite surprised with the results. I only knew of 2 races I was mixed with but the in depth results that went deeper were surprising. The European side came from my father and he sub-Saharan side came from my mothers side. That was a surprising flip.

Iberians

I´d like to have recieved a little more info about my genes, just like other 23andMe users did, I was surprised to see that I could only see my ancestors composition and my neanderthal percentage.
I am also a bit dissapointed with the results because the reason why I ordered a 23andMe kit was to find our where did my Iberian ancestors come from. I know I am an Iberian but Iberians are not an ethnicity per se, they came from many parts of Europe and we even look very different one from another so, definitely, must come from different places. Me, myself, I am a very white person often misguided by a foreign by other Spanyards and this is why I wanted to find out where do my genes really come from. Am I Iberian? Of course! But what kind of Iberian?

Learning about myself

It actually open my mind up to reading more about my history and more about my Wellness And Trades that I didn't know about myself as far as different diseases and disorders and syndromes I'm really happy that I took me to an exploration.

Getting to Know Me

I waited a long time before deciding to get my self test kit. I immediately registered and sent my sample. I was anxious to get my results and I am thrilled with the information. I will be referring my children and my nieces and nephews as they need to have some understanding of the amazing people they are and from where and what they came. I have done extensive personal and family genealogy as I am a 5th Generation Utah Mormon but I was surprised at the composition and the traits! All of my siblings are interested and some have already done their submission....they find they are "different" from me and we are full family. I know this will be very important in our world and health going forward and I am happy to answer a million questions within this tool if it will help my grandchildren and great grands to be their best selves

Confirming what I already knew

I recently decide to do this because of the fact me and my wife are planning to have a kid. As a man of science I decide it best to know what potential Carrier traits I have, and could pass on to my kid if my wife was also a carrier. I wasn't surprise by carrier results because it said I was carrier of PKU, and my brother does have the genetic disorder. I still have to get my wife to do it, but with the results from 23andme. We also got the ancestry results which we were a little surprised by 6.1% french and German. I shared the results with my family. My dad said "Well we don't know where your great great great grandfather originated from", but we know the ancestry of my mother she used a competitor. The results from 23andme where much more extensive and came with much better results and explanations. Highly recommend using them to anyone considering wanting to know the same information. They are constantly expanding their knowledge and updating your report even after completing the service.
