Waste of money

I didn't find any of the information useful. Vague information told me nothing about what I could expect in my health or what my DNA should "red flag".
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. The 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service is the first and only genetic service available directly to you that includes reports that meet FDA standards. You now are able to receive 65+ reports on health, traits and ancestry instead of exclusively ancestry reports.
We will continue to work with the FDA to seek additional clearances for our product. However we are not able to speculate about changes to reports, or what may be available in the future, given our dialogue with the FDA is ongoing.

Surpassed My Expectations!

I received this as a Christmas gift from my in laws. I have always been curious about tracking down my ancestry. When my results came back I was shocked and pleasantly surprised with the information I was provided with!

Clear and Easy-to-follow Presentation of Results

Interesting results on ancestry which seem to update and become clearer as more links are provided from known relatives. I think Native American results are possibly masked by some similar genetic group. I wish more health and medical results could be provided.

The Ancestry findings of the DNA tests were so vague and general that they barely provided any relevant insight. All I know at this point is what continent my DNA is from, but very little perspective on which specific country/ethnicity (which was the entire reason I did the test). Also, the Carrier, Traits and Wellness reports tested for largely irrelevant qualities that few people would even know what is being tested or why that insight would be relevant or significant to one's life. Finally, I was required to fill out all my "known" ancestry and health record information before I was able to see my Ancestry or other test results. This left me feeling like the test results I saw were based on my inputs, NOT the DNA testing you did. Perhaps that is not the case, but it left me very skeptical of the "results" I was looking at in my reports. While there were some decent insights, not nearly the comprehensive insights they suggested in their marketing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The best ever!

We purchased a kit for both my wife and I. However, due to health complications, I let the first two kits expire. I contacted 23andMe, and two replacement kits were sent out at no charge. Upon submitting the samples, I inadvertently cross matched the samples. Again, I contacted 23andMe, and they responded in a rapid manner, and corrected the mismatched samples immediately. Then, upon receiving the reports, I had a question about my wife's report. Again, they not only responded in a rapid manner, but they not only answered my question, but gave a detailed explanation as to why the results were as they were. The crew at 23andMe are extremely prompt, professional, and courteous. Job well done guys!!

Needs to be more specific

I was so excited to buy my 23andme kit and yes, it is so great getting the results. The issue I have is that it is not exact enough. I want to know more than my ancestry is broadly Northern European and broadly Southern European! That doesn't tell me anything except like most Americans, I am broadly European. I think that with the number of people who know their genealogy when they participate in the program, the results could be more accurate. I also wish that there was an emphasis on providing a way for "long lost relatives" to connect. Is that possible with DNA testing like this? I had hoped to learn more specifically than what my results gave so I was disappointed.
