My husband ordered this for me last month for my birthday..It came quickly in the mail along with a message card....of course...it was simple to do...just fill the test tube with saliva...and place in a seal bag...which was provided...and return in the box it came in....the hardest part....waiting for the results...it was around a month...but it was worth it..
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had used another service in the past and literally waited months for the results. The turn around time for 23andme was much much faster! I am very pleased!

It's not accurate and says that "it's not detected" on just about everything
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you have received the result "Variants not Detected", that means that we determined you do not carry the variant or mutation included in the report. This does not indicate that your data was not analyzed for the variant, but that the variant was not found. Keep in mind that the test does not cover all variants that could cause a particular condition. For more information, please visit: https://www.23andme.com/carrierstatus-fda/

Easy to do - eye opening results

Very easy to submit for analysis. Really cool and interesting results - eye opening even. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to find out more about their ancestry. Even if you think you know I bet there are a few surprise relatives. My wife and I did and are already recruiting more family members to built out our families tree understanding even more.

Such Amazing Ride

23andMe was given to me as a Christmas present from my daughter. Because I was raised in an orphanage, my history has many missing links. Irish and Indian was my perspective heritage, I was told. Not knowing what to believe, because past information, being wrong, It was important to know the truth. Having grand children, my daughter wanted to know for me, herself and my grandchildren, where we started in life. It was an wonderous journey, especially to find out I'm more British and Irish than anything. My ancestry, also shows an amazing past, for generations!

Wasted money

I received this as a Christmas present. I always wanted to know if I was really Native American. I was told I was, but come to find out is that I have some Jewish and African American. So surprising and so interesting! The results were very informative!
