Not as interesting as I'd thought

Many of the extras were wrong like if I prefer salty food over sweet. The areas of the world I come from were spot on but since I already knew that for the most part, I was hoping for some additional information. It's great that they test you for certain diseases though so that was a plus.

Thank you for your feedback. The Trait reports provide your likelihood of having certain characteristics. You can learn how your DNA affects your hair color, taste preferences and more. While many traits are highly influenced by genetics, there are other non-genetic factors that affect the expression of certain traits.
To learn more about a trait, navigate to the result of interest and scroll to the About section. This section will tell you the description, biology, and non-genetic factors that are associated with the feature.

Like the ancestry, but not so much medical

I have always wanted to know about my past and what genes I carried. Once the results were posted I was so excited after waiting 6 weeks. Was happy with the anecessary, but the medical wasn't anything I was hoping for. They ask so many questions about smoking and cancer but nothing simular to that on the results. Was disappointed.

Their questions are very in depth and probably due to this, I received a very detailed and informative reports. I am so happy I did this; learned I am more than the nationalities I was told.

Thought there would be more. My gosh, if I can't find out who I am from my own DNA then I guess I will wander the earth with no connection to anyone. Sad

Thank you for your feedback. The population labels in Ancestry Composition refer to genetically similar groups, rather than nationalities. In general, we sought to make the populations as small as possible, subject to the constraint of being able to distinguish between them. Populations may be inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart.
You can read about the population selection process in more detail in the corresponding section of the Ancestry Composition Guide: https://www.23andme.com/ancestry_composition_guide/
Your results are a living analysis. Using thousands of reference individuals we are able to continually evolve and improve your results. As we update our reference data, it will not be uncommon to see slight shifts in your results over time. Keep in mind that the knowledge of ancestral and health genetics is also continually evolving. The field is not static and new discoveries are being made every day. At 23andMe we strive to keep pace with new scientific discoveries and keep our customers up to date on new findings.
