Surprised at my results. Worth every penny.

I only used the ancestry services and I have already lived most of my life and knowing health factors would not be important for me. Was it worth the money to know the truth? It was worth every penny! I was told by both of my parents that there was 1 64th Native American blood in me. It seems like I have none and am 99.9% Northwest European! I was expecting to receive my results in 6 weeks and got them in just 2 weeks. That was a pleasant surprise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The kit was arrived promptly and was very easy to use. Mailing it back was very easy. My results were returned two weeks before expected. I'm actively participating in research questions and feel I'm helping science move forward on the health front.

Not worth the money.

The site tells you things about yourself you prob already know. Nothing is going to be to exciting. Most disappointing was the health section. They check for all of these rare things most people aren't going to have anyway. If I could choose I would not do it again.

I first heard about 23&me several years ago when I was a Future Problem Solver coach and the topic was genetics. 23& me was discussed as a reliable test method for DNA. This summer while working on my ancestry I found someone who wanted to see if we might be related. I, too, was curious about a connection to this same family. So I got online and pruchased my kit. Getting enough spit became funny but I succeeded. The turnaround was quicker than expected. My results were surprising. I am whiter than I thought but I can now report that I found possible connections to my African family members. Thanks, 23&me!

After spending almost seven years researching my Ancestry family tree, I had more questions than when I first started. I decided that haven't my Ancestry DNA conducted, what answer most of my questions. To my surprise, it not only answered my questions, but also opened the door to new questions.
As a result, several of my family members will be having their Ancestry DNA tested.
