too hard to understand

these tests were NOT worth $200 !!!!! tests were to hard to understand

Do Not Buy This!

Very disappointed in the results. I bought the full package, and regret it deeply. Perhaps my expectations were too great, or maybe (?) they oversell the program.

The 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service provides both health and ancestry information in a single service for a single price and is the first and only genetic service available directly to you that includes reports that meet FDA standards. You receive 65+ personalized genetic reports to help you understand what your DNA says about your health, traits and ancestry.
Keep in mind that each health, trait and wellness report includes a Scientific Details tab that includes more detailed information.

Just reviewed the report and still haven't changed my mind. The various reports are vague and they have used some of the information that I gave them in a survey. In my opinion, a waste of money.

Thank you for your feedback. The data that we report is strictly genetic information regarding your genotype (e.g. the A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s at particular locations in your genome), generated through processing of your saliva by 23andMe. Participation in surveys is completely voluntary and will not affect your genetic data.

Not a lot of explanation comes with the results

This was much less helpful than I thought it would be. In order to link this to my own geneaology I had to download their product and now, because my family tree is so large, I will need to pay for a year's subscription and they do not offer monthly rates. Not real happy with this product.

Generic info only

The results from the initial test was pretty vague. I paid money just to find out that I came from East Asia. It would have helped if there was more of a breakdown. In the East Asian category there are too many countries to choose from. The other info I got related to health was not helpful at all. that too was really generic in the results. I guess this DNA test only works great if the person comes from European background. I am Filipino or at least I think I am, but according to the results of the test, I could be anything that falls under the East Asian category. I guess if I wanted to learn the details I had to pay more. This might turn out great for another person, but for me, the info I got from 23 and me did not help at all.

I was expecting more detailed information about my ancestry and genetic makeup. The results felt very basic. I got as a gift but I wouldn't recommend

Great Experience

I had questions about a great great grandparent's heritage and decided to see if I could find where he came from. We got answers from this test and I am grateful that the mystery is over and I have definitive answers. What a great age we live in to be able to check our history by this test.
I would recommend this to a friend!
