Make viewing and the understand in the information easier for the consumer. My wife and I both used 23andme. When we where notified that the information was ready to review, we were very excited. After looking at the information we are more confused that ever. The info is extremely had to understand and is very general. We just wanted to understand where we came from.
I spent the time and filled out most of the question from all the fields. One question was, have I notices hearing loss. My answer was yes. After reviewing my traits from our DNA sample, One of my threats is hearing loss. No kidding, Really! Wow what an eye opener.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. We have implemented an ongoing quality review process and are actively taking steps to make our products understandable to the widest possible audience while maintaining our scientific standards. Keep in mind that each health, trait and wellness report includes a Scientific Details tab that includes more detailed information.
Your genetic analysis results are not connected to or derived from your survey answers. The data that we report is strictly genetic information regarding your genotype (e.g. the A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s at particular locations in your genome), generated through processing of your saliva by 23andMe.
Participation in surveys is completely voluntary. Choosing not to participate will not affect access to your genetic data or use of the 23andMe service. You can opt out of participating in research at anytime by navigating to your Account Settings page.

I know for a fact my father is 100% Sicilian italian. It showed me to be only 12.3% italian. Ancestry was confusing and inaccurate compared to my family history.

Thank you for your feedback. Our Ancestry Composition report tells you what percent of your DNA comes from each of 31 populations worldwide. The analysis includes DNA you received from all of your ancestors, on both sides of your family. Some populations are inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart. In these cases, your expected ancestry may actually be included in the broadly assigned ancestry for that region. The Broadly Assigned label is assigned when a piece of DNA can be found with some frequency in multiple regions.

What does it offer? I was expecting a path to a database where I might find people I am related to. I did not find that here.

Thank you for your feedback. One of the features included in our service is called DNA Relatives. DNA Relatives locates other 23andMe members that match your DNA. This feature estimates a predicted relationship and range using the length and number of segments and percent DNA shared.
Keep in mind that the number of relatives will vary for each person and will grow over time as more people join 23andMe.

Our Ancestry Composition report will tell you what percent of your DNA comes from each of 31 populations worldwide. The analysis includes DNA you received from all of your ancestors, on both sides of your family. The results reflect where your ancestors lived 500 years ago, before the advent of intercontinental travel. The population labels in Ancestry Composition refer to genetically similar groups, rather than nationalities.
