A Father's Day gift from my son. Even though it confirmed what I already knew, there were intriguing links to other ethnicities and cultures I was unaware of, prompting me to order kits for my wife and sister (with their consent)!

It was fun to find out what was in my blood from the percentage. But I do wish they could single out the different types of Polynesian blood and not just have it all under Austronesian

My great grandfathers mother was 50% Comanche Indian. Your results told me nothing more than I am 98% European. Can't be very accurate.

Having Native American DNA is different from having Native American ancestry. Your results from 23andMe can only show you what can be seen in your DNA. It is important to note that sometimes, even if a person's great, great grandmother, for instance, was considered to be Native American, the DNA does not reveal the Native American ancestry because evidence is lost each generation. This does not mean that you do not have Native American ancestry or that your family heritage as passed down through the generations is incorrect.

Thank you for your feedback. One of the features included in our service is called DNA Relatives. DNA Relatives locates other 23andMe members that match your DNA. This feature estimates a predicted relationship and range using the length and number of segments and percent DNA shared. When two people share identical segments of DNA, this indicates that they share a recent common ancestor.
Unlike other genetic genealogy services that identify relationships on only the direct paternal or maternal lines, DNA Relatives can identify relationships on any branch of your family tree. It does this by taking advantage of the autosomal chromosomes—the 22 chromosomes that are passed down from your ancestors on both sides of your family.
Keep in mind that the number of relatives will vary for each person and will grow over time as more people join 23andMe.

My half siblings came back asked. I have younger 1/2 sisters and I came back as an aunt and my older 1/2 brother came back as an uncle and uncle to another 1/2 sister. If what you say, it is impossible. We all have the same mother. I also have the health and I have a kidney disease and it doesn't show up as something on my list of health issues.

Thank you for your feedback. Certain relationships share approximately the same amount of DNA. We assign you a predicted relationship based on the percentage of DNA you share, the number of segments you share, and the age of each individual.
