Could Be Better If.....

This product could be better if more people nationally and worldwide submitted to the test, or if all such DNA services could be combined into 1 database. It would also be better if famous people that share DNA could be identified, and if participants would not use initials, would fill out their profiles more completely, and be more responsive to contacts from participants they share DNA with.

Great, but the User Interface still needs work

I really love the depth of information and the ability to connect with other people. They have spent a lot of time on the "what does this mean" part of the website. I'm frustrated with the user interface and navigation. For example. My dad joined recently, so I was looking at the haplogroups between him and myself. It made me want to look at the same information with other members of the family that I'm connected with. It wasn't impossible, but it was close to impossible, and took over an hour to figure out how.

I didnt know I had !!
I could have never found them without this kit and App !!!

Found my half sister, we've been looking for her for 40 years and found her. Also my mother was adopted so she has been able to find information on her real family and she is forever grateful for this experience. Thank you 23andme❤️

History lessons (?)

I found out what continent my ancestors primarily came from, but nothing more. I thought it was about finding relatives from the past and present, and helping you see where you came from via real people from the past; with real census, property, tax, immigration records…? If it’s something I’m doing wrong, then please provide instructions. It seems to have been a basic spit test for finding out I’m white. I already knew that, so obviously I was searching for something with greater meaning. Even if there was some difficult information revealed (for example: slave ownership, exploitation), a light could have been shone onto it to help me re-commit to breaking down that legacy. I do not have to be proud of or afraid of what I learn. Some people just need to learn period. Perhaps my ancestors covered their tracks?

Misleading

I got this for my birthday and I am really sad about it it was very misleading even through all the sign up questions that it was going to let you know your close relatives well it turns out I have to pay an extra 140ish dollars for that on top of what was already paid, had I known that I would have asked for something else for my birthday because now I do not have the funds to find out my close relatives I think I have

I bought the service and sent in my sample. However, this company now requires me to give them my credit card information before I can review the results! This company is in bankruptcy proceedings and I have no intention to give them any further information to review the results of the service I have already paid for.
