Fascinating report on my genetic history and other relatives I didn't know I had. Also reports possible genetic disease risks. Great!

Not Worth It

Does not tell you anything you do not already know (hair color, eye color, lactose intolerance, etc.).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wasn't as excited after I read the vague results

The anticipation was strong, but the final results were quite vague and disappointing.

23 and Me- My View of the Process

The 23 and Me kit was a gift from my children for my 76th birthday. The kit was extremely easy to use and register. The data it provided me falls into two categories. The ancestry data told me much of what I already knew from family history. However, the tracing back to my ancient ancestors, was somewhat interesting.
The health reports were very useful in that they provided me with information that I did not already know. That part of the reports was quite valuable to me.
In general, I was satisfied with the 23 and Me experience.

Lots of fluff and useless information

200.00 is to much to pay for the amount of information I received. I would have enjoyed more about my history people and background, than how long my finger should be and how much I should weigh.

In addition, the 23andMe site has been redesigned, offering updated tools and features, better functionality, and new content.

Moderately interesting.

23 and Me has certainly compiled a lot of information about a lot of things. Some of it is quite interesting and others, not so much. My ethnicity presented, really, no surprise; we are a boring, seldom-intermarrying lot. I have found the medical information interesting and potentially useful to my kin. Spitting up enough spit was a challenge but I persevered and succeeded, finally.

Health Reports are Good. Way Too Few Relatives.

The health reports are potentially instructive. There are way too few participants on 23andMe for effective family connections. My relatives count seems frozen, after months, at about 1,150, which is ridiculous. My nearest relative on 23andMe is a 2nd-3rd cousin.
