I am from Germany and I received 23&me as gift. Most germans did an ancestry search during the 3rd Reich. My family from my mother's side (mother &father) goes back 1500 ,my father's family 1800. All german, and yet according to 23&me iam 51 percent from Russia/Poland. How could that be??? I really would like to have a response. I hope to hear from you before I return to Germany.

This was a FAR BETTER experience than what I've had with other top services! + Got my results in less that 2 weeks from the day I mailed sample! + Loved the colorful, smart user interface! + Loved to compare my ethnicity w/my DNA matches! + You can even BUY A PERSONALIZED BOOK showcasing your ancestral origins! + NOT a dry experience, as with other DNA services, but a very enjoyable presentation!
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far all I can do is read the results from my computer as my printer will not accept it. So, this material is good only if your printer is compatible.

My Mother did our family tree many years ago. Mother and Father back to the late 16 hundreds. No mention of any British and Irish in our line. French/French Canadian except for Two mentions of Native American. One Huron from Quebec and one Algonquin. Where does the British come in? I'm confused and would like a better explanation that I can understand. Thanks for listening.

Disappointed

I bought 3 DNA kits to give as Christmas presents. It was fun to start with, but when we starting receiving the results. I was extremely disappointed. We were general statements that you could look at our pictures and see, or the statements were so far off of our general appearance traits we could have been someone else. We had a genealogy completed on one side of the family and we are second generation immigrants from on the other side of the family. NONE of which were mentioned. Don't you think that some of this should have been found in our DNA. I do NOT believe the test was truly conducted.

Thank you for your feedback. Our Ancestry Composition report tells you what percent of your DNA comes from each of 31 populations worldwide. The analysis includes DNA you received from all of your ancestors, on both sides of your family. Some populations are inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart. In these cases, your expected ancestry may actually be included in the broadly assigned ancestry for that region. The Broadly Assigned label is assigned when a piece of DNA can be found with some frequency in multiple regions.
