Ancestry Results Don’t Match Son’s

My ancestry results did not match my natural son own results in term of percentages. We are 49+% related...no issues there. He is 54% Scottish, Irish and Welch, plus another 5% British. Me, I was demoted from an 8% British Isles to just 1.2%. How does that make any sense? His mother isn’t 100% Scottish, Irish and Welch.

Thank you for your feedback. Children randomly inherit 50% of their DNA from each of their parents. For this reason, you don't inherit exactly half of each your parents' ancestry assignments. The percentages you see will vary depending on which segments you inherited.

I purchased 23&me because I have very little family history or info. When my info came it was like a precious document. For anyone wanting to know anything about themselves
and their ancestors ,even their health, should purchase 23 & Me. It is absolutely a must have.

23 and me listed in a first cousin that I never heard of. I did some detective work and contacted this person and we changed ideas and everything found out that my uncle was his biological father and he didn’t even know it

Everyone that I know has found their mother or father quickly and easily but me. It's been a year and I still have no answers. I recommend only if it's easy for others to find answers.

Interesting Research Going On Here

I was initially intrigued by the fact that through a saliva sample, DNA can be obtained for researching our ancestry. 23 and Me approaches this research from a European sensibility as there is constant information regarding Neanderthals who were one of many ancient tribes/peoples in the eastern hemisphere. I think that 23 and Me should research and trace back to Mesopotamia which according to the bible is the cradle of civilization and thereabouts where the garden of Eden may have been. With that said, I appreciate the efforts of this product, but find that it has many flaws and cannot rely on just a saliva DNA sample as the "be all and end all" to genetic research and testing. There is definitely something much larger going on here.
