So far I have enjoyed the information! Neat to see the Connections across the map! So many people I’m kin to that I didn’t know about! Small world! I only have 4 stars because I wish I understood how to navigate through it better I’m sure it’s my fault I haven’t spent enough time learning how yet. It has been fun though!

Garbage!

EXTREMELY disappointed! To say that I am 99.6% Ashkenazi Jewish is like telling me that I am caucasian. Thanks, I know that about myself! You told me absolutely nothing about my ancestry. You couldn't even identify a country, just eastern European. Of which I already know, again. Total waste of money and time!

Thank you for your feedback. Human geneticists have found Ashkenazi Jews to be a genetically similar group. Ashkenazi Jewish individuals are a close knit population and individuals within the community generally share long stretches of DNA with one another. For this reason, we are able to identify Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry, distinct from Eastern European or German ancestry, using these distinct genetic markers.

Regardless of the place of origin, Ashkenazi Jewish individuals can be grouped in the same genetic cohort as a result of these genetic similarities. Therefore, regardless of whether an Ashkenazi Jewish individual's ancestors came from Poland, Russia, Hungary, Lithuania, or any other place with a historical Jewish population, they are genetically similar to the same Ashkenazi Jewish group. The is a reflection of the close knit nature of the Jewish population in Europe.

Answers that lead to more questions.

Informative, yes it is. But the information left me with more questions. Question that I really did not think I would be thinking about. I wanted to know the "CRYSTAL BALL" information. Most of the stuff is remarkably close to what I am. I wanted to know if I was going to die of a cancer at 66 or live till 99. Was I predisposed to addiction or was it just a coping mechanism from youth issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thoughts About 23andme

The health section of 23andme is okay. It's get upwards to 50% of my information correct.
The ancestry part is mostly wrong. I would like an update with the ancestry part of 23. Most of the good things were taken away. Do more testing for ethnicities. My results go hand in hand with all other testing sites I've done, but 23 doesn't come close.

Our son gifted my wife and I with 23and me, to find out more about his ancestry. I have been able to contact DNA relatives and it has been interesting finding out how we are connected.

If you are adopted, this is a cool tool for you

I am not adopted but my brothers are. One of them chose to do 23andMe and found a first cousin relative. In my own personal experience, an adopted cousin found me! It has also been really fun learning about my heritage and connecting with family members.
