i feel the more people that contribute their gene make up to the overall investigation the better off we as a population of humans will be. A literasl gene pool. Knowledge is power.

Really wish I could get a refund. To much info about mainly white people and not enough about my results...

So far, my experience with 23 and me has been an eye opening experience. I learned about my mitochondrial DNA coming from Africa...thereby confirming my African roots on my mother's side of the family. I also learned that I was 90% African...which was more than I expected from 23 and me. I also learned that I have Native American DNA (in spite being mostly African) ...which was more than I expected. I also came in contact with some people that might be related to me. All-in-all, I'm having a very interesting experience on 23 and me, and I expect to have an even more interesting experience as I learn more about who I am, where I originate, and who is (potentially) related to me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great title

I received this kit as a gift from my daughter who had taken the test herself and was curious to see what DNA came from me, and what came from her dad. I've always been curious myself, and was pleased when I found it in my mailbox. It only took about 2 1/2 weeks to get results back. As advertised, there were some surprises. Overall, it was well worth taking. I only wish the 38% that was broadly defined as Northwestern European could have been broken down a little further, but maybe that can be done as techniques improve.

Easy instructions and quick results

My son did his own test and then bought one for me and his dad. The instructions were very simple to follow and I got my results back in just a little over 3 weeks. I was shocked with the results, but they answered a lot of questions about why I have the features I do.

Interesting and fun!

Took a long time for the results, but I think this is because so many people are doing it. I was always told I was German, and the test revealed I was only 7%... I learned so much. It was fun, provided many family laughs and connected me to family that I know I have so it's correct!

This was a gift from my sister as she knew how much I am into the genealogy of our family! 23 and Me has answered so many questions for us with the data I got back! It confirmed the French ancestry that a great-grandfather insisted he had, though we had no proof! I have learned I have ancestors from parts of the world I never knew! And it breaks it down even further. The data is very meticulous.
