I submitted my sample a year ago and learned a lot about my ancestry. The research updates are fascinating.

I was impressed with the accuracy about my traits. The reports gave information and graphs to show the lineage where the variants existed and scientific history. There was additional info to handle medical issues.

Test kit was simple and easy, results returned earlier than expected. I enjoy answering the ongoing research questions. I'm frustrated that once you've got your dna, you have to jump thru hoops to figure out (healthwise) what it could mean. If you get very far with that and you bring your findings to your doctor, good luck getting anyone to prescribe based on the results. Overall, it's been a disappointing experience, from that perspective. On the ancestry side, it's been interesting to see where my ancestors came from.

The results were available for my chiropractor to look at and address for which supplements I may want to take. This is my first time looking at my results through 23 and me.

My mother never knew who her father was. Now, thanks to 23andMe, we have discovered who her father was and conected with her previously unknown siblings.

this has been a good and learning experience. the ancestry and health information are good and explain ancestry origins much farther back than genealogical records so can be quite different than we thought. we are not supposed to mention competitors so I won't mention names but another service got my relationship with my sister completely wrong whereas 23andme got it right. On the negative side, not having a family tree feature on 23andme makes finding these DNA matches difficult to discern. On the health front, the list of traits like asparagus urine and similar traits are basically useless and the space could be devoted to more genetic carrier status or health risk features.

I have been looking for my biological father for most of my life, I am almost 40 years old. Through 23andme we connected. It’s been a beautiful gift. I spend time with my father almost daily now. 23andme led me to discover the family I always knew was out there somewhere and I couldn’t feel more blessed. I have cousins, a grandmother, and even a half sister. Thank you 23andme!

Question accuracy of info

There are things that I like 23 and Me but have questions about accuracy since there is no way to further explain answers. Examples: did you develop wisdom teeth...my answer was yes, but only two, no way to modify the answer of yes or no; does anyone in your immediate family have Alzheimer's disease...my answer yes, my son was diagnosed with mixed dementia, but he had a significant head injury when he was 7 and he has atrial fib, other risk factors not included in the options. To me, this partial information is inaccurate information which skews the results.
