Great provider of interesting information

I'm enjoying learning more about genetics as there is much information to be had with the analyses done by 23andMe. I'm very interested in the specific risks that are being identified and hope that more participants will fill out the questionnaires to aid in the research. The specificity of the ancestral origins is less detailed than I'd hoped but perhaps this will change as more information is gathered.

I have really enjoyed using 23andme. One of the reasons I chose it over other services is their excellent website. The data is presented very clearly, and they keep adding data even after receiving my initial results. The ancestry data was spot on with what I know about my family history.

I fully enjoyed this I have gotten some questions answered that I wanted to know about. I also have had contact with other member of my family that I never knew about. This I could see a a world of good for someone who knows nothing of family done a good job with it. I would have like to know a little more about the countries rather more of a smaller area from where they came from so that I might track it a little better but all in all great job doing what it is for.

The best experience ever. I have helped several adopted DNA cousins find their siblings and have found their relationship to me and my family. Finding out that I am Irish has created a whole new outlook on life. The health information is highly beneficial. I bought my kit in 2013.

I purchased this product in June for myself and as a gift for my eldest sister. This is something we had wanted to do together as I had been orphaned at an early age while she happens to be my biological first cousin. We had always been fascinated with both our ancestral and genetic heritage and the 23andMe Health + Ancestry did not disappoint either of us. Months later, we both continue to share the incredible results, connections, and discoveries made possible with the analysis of our DNA.

I was fortunate to attend the Senior National Games 2008 held at Stanford University. We really didn't know too much at the time, however as an athlete I was interested in my health. Over time I have become just as interested in my families heritage. I have bought several kits and encouraged other family members to take the spit test. When you sign up they do mention that stories told by family members might always be true, but in my case the rumor was finally confirmed....now it is a matter of finding the family member. I hope in the future we can connect the two popular DNA testing sites.

Not impressed with Health service, Ancestry broad

The positive thing is there is a lot of research on the ancestry reports, and the more people who participate, the more feedback everyone will get. Seeing the different maps and learning about the history is extremely interesting. However, I paid extra for the health services and I was not impressed for the price, maybe if it were included in the price of the DNA. Personally, there was very little health feedback, 81 reports but none had anything to do with my DNA, so the data was helpless.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My reports said I had the genetic markers for Hereditary hemochromatosis and celiacs disease. I was diagnosed with hemochromatosis years ago and have had intestinal problems for years. They were the only 2 markers noted and I have both issues, so your tests were right on. And unfortunately, the predisposition to weigh about 11 percent more than average was correct as well !! I have recommended your test to at least 6 people, all of whom took it and found the tests were pretty much correct. I was however, shocked at my ancestry. Interesting stuff!
