Amazing discovery!

I discoved I have a whole new family! I found out I have a different birth father and a full brother who was adopted. My 4 siblings I was raised with are half siblings and I have two other half sisters, one of whom I have met and we have begun a lovely friendship. our father was murdered and always looked for his adopted son. so I am continuing the search! I always knew deep down something was different about me and now I know why! Its a story with much drama, twists and turns. Now leading us on a search for brother DOB 1/28/1958

Found Unknown Father thru 23andMe. My newly discovered niece contacted me thru 23andMe to ask "who in the world are you and how are we related?' Turns out she is my niece, whose father is my until then, my unknown half brother. I have an entire new family to get to know. My father is no longer alive so many questions can npt be answered but genetics dont hide the truth or lie! It has been a wonderful experience!

I don't feel 23 and me provide enough information about my relatives. I have spoken with people that have used another company and they are getting more information than i am, and i am very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. Our DNA Relatives tool locates other 23andMe members that match your DNA and estimates a predicted relationship using the length, number of segments, and percent DNA shared.
As new 23andMe members join that match your DNA, they will be automatically added to your DNA Relatives list. Keep in mind that DNA Relatives is only able to locate other individuals who have been genotyped by 23andMe, and who have opted in to the feature.
Additionally, you can use the DNA Comparison feature to learn about the genetic relationship between yourself and your shared connections. To see the segments you have in common, select your name and up to five of your relative's name, then click Compare. You can locate the DNA Comparison feature here: https://you.23andme.com/tools/relatives/dna/

A few Surprises

I was glad to know I don't have the gene for Parkinson's disease, because my sister has it. Nice to know what county in Ireland my mother family came from. The surprise was that I have Neanderthal in me and more than 90 percent tested.

This was so exciting and informative. Made me feel glad to be alive. All that information and enlightenment. It educated me about Neanderthal origins. We are all part of the amazing human race
