Mental acuity test

I did not like your mental acuity test where in a picture was shown and a number key was to be pressed. This test is biased for smaller hands. A major fault I had with the test was my fingers losing registration with the three keys and thus pressing the wrong key.

This site hasn't matched me with any close relatives except for 2, that I still don't know. Good health reports.

Think before you pay

23+Me provides a unique service with their health and defective gene DNA analysis. If you hope to use this service for genealogical research you are in for a huge disappointment. Cousin response rate runs around 10% probably because most of the customers are not into genealogy. By being allowed to compose or upload a family tree, coupled with the low response rate of DNA relatives, researching cousins to extend your tree is nearly impossible.

I never thought I'd kept checking back on a DNA website as much as I do, but I use it almost weekly! It's super cool to be able to see where your ancestors came from, learn about your health, and connect with DNA relatives at the same time!

I love the hole thing Ancestry plus the Health. You find amazing people/family on here. I love finally finding out my race. The health part is stunning!! I have had a few family members do theirs as well. Try it and you'll love it. Thank you so much for everything you all do to make this happen. Loving it...

love 23 and me

It was the first DNA I ventured into. therefore I got the original "health profiles" and was well pleased with it. It was spot on for what i already knew. and gave me areas to pay attention to in the future.
the connection with cousins has been wonderful!! I did get some unexpected results, but they fit with anecdotal info i had received from another researcher. I then participated in another company's DNA test and the results were amazingly
close.
Thank you 23 and Me

Disappointed by latest slapdash ancestry update
on July 27, 2018

I bought this 4-5 years ago but the recent update to the ancestry profile removed several of the smaller population increments (the 0.5 percent portions) from my ancestry and what was "updated" now seems less reflective of what I know or have found to be there. I realize that the small increments have been just "genetic noise," but it still seemed a mess. I would have preferred no update. It seemed like a quick, sloppy job. I am getting my family members tested by another company. I have lost faith based on the update.

Thank you for your feedback. We recently released an update to your report that impacts the smallest percentages in your Ancestry Composition results. Any assignment previously labeled as <0.1% was either rounded up to 0.1% or rounded down to 0.0%. Assignments rounded to 0.0% were removed from your results, because assignments of this size may be noise within the thousands of windows analyzed by the Ancestry Composition report.

We are constantly evaluating the performance of Ancestry Composition and when issues are identified that can lead to improvements in accuracy, those will be applied for all customers. Ancestry Composition is a living analysis, and customers should expect the results to continue to update as we make changes to the feature.
