Medical Enhancement

I am more science orientated then family tree. I chose 23 /Me so I could see what medical passed down through the ages. And to be part of research right from my home. As time progresses and I have begun to reach out to others in the tree, though right now, I have only 3rd cousin's and beyond listed. I am able to make a 'medical' tree too. My own results showed me why I had the medical problems I did as a child. It gave me peace of mind over some other areas that generations suffered from in their life time. After just 6 weeks, I find the research is still the strong draw. Because the 'finding other family' is a long tedious process. And connections don't come over night. Many don't visit their sites I suppose once a week like I have tried to make the habit of doing. I love reading the medical articles under the different categories!

I finally met my dad!

I received this kit as a gift, and it connected me with a close DNA relative who was able to identify my father. I then purchased a kit for my father, to confirm the results - and it did! We are thrilled to have found each other, and have discovered we are so much alike in temperament, looks, world views, and talents. It's been incredible!

Amazing!

Because of 23 and Me, we just found out that we have a half-sister we didn't know about! She is 75 and we sisters are 70, 69, 67, 62, and 61. We also have a brother who is 73. None of us knew about our older sister. We're going to meet in two weeks and are so excited to meet each other! Who knew?!

Although it was better in the early days before the heavy hand of the FDA I waited my whole life for Ann to come up with 23. Awesome site, so many questions answered, so many data points.

An amazing experience

I received 23 and me for a Christmas present. I am 75 ears old, was adopted and knew nothing about medical or ancestor history. By the first of Feburary I was in contact with a first cousin and had identified who my birth mother was. Besides opening a view to biological relations I now have some incite into medical history

I purchased the 23&me over a year ago. I was adopted and loved receiving my heritage! I always wondered what I was and am still shocked I'm not what I had guessed. Since I am a female I didn't think 23&me would also list my Paternal side on my family tree. Boy was I wrong, thankfully! I am amazed! I've been in contact with some of my Paternal relatives. I know who my Birth Father is now and am in the stages of contacting him. I love the sites set-up it's very easy to use, even for me. I can see my DNA relatives and we can contact each other through the site. The Family Tree is amazing. The site has alot of feature I like to use and I've learned alot from. I highly recommend 23&me!

I found and aunt that my family didn't know of because she was adopted out at birth and also a 1st cousin witch confirmed who my biological father that i never met was. Also I keep finding more relatives every week. Great test and lots of great info.

Mystery solved

My daughter would show symptoms of hypoglycemia and lethargy. Drs couldn't find anything that would cause it. Years went by and I did DNA test. Turns out I carry hereditary fructose intolerance. Symptoms match perfectly what she has been dealing with. So now we know.
