Wonderful experience

I wanted to get details of my mother's ancestry and health traits. She was adopted and also became estranged from her family in her teens. I was contacted by a DNA relative whose mother had the same maiden name as my mom. She even gave me information on how to get adoption details in Ireland. Since then I have embarked on my journey of discovery into my mom's past. I am thankful.

Excellent investment!

I found my 23andMe results to be incredibly interesting! I have connected with several relatives that I didn't even know existed, which has been a really neat experience. I also found out that I'm 4% Native American, which I had no idea about. One way that I feel this could be better, is by getting more precise ancestry results. What I mean is that I'm 29% German/French, but I'd like to know which one exactly. I think that I will have that answer in time, as more people submit their dna. All in all, I'm very happy with the whole process. I would recommend 23andMe to everyone.

Finding Half Brothers

I bought this for my 15 year old daughter who was conceived through egg donor. She was very curious about her genetics from the anonymous egg donor. The first thing that popped up on the results was a picture of a "probable half brother." I had no doubts about it by just looking at the picture. My daughter is one out of three daughters we have through that egg donor. She has always had a unique nose that we did not know where it came from. Looking at the picture we saw her nose and eyes!!! She was overjoyed at seeing this. I reached out and messaged him and found out that he is one of triplet boys conceived through egg donor. SO exciting to find family. Thank you for making it possible.

Finding family

Two years ago I found an older Brother. In February of last year I found another older brother. Same birth mom and dad. They are both marred and have kids. My twin sister and I have a bigger family now.

I have always wanted to do 23 and me but never had the money to do it. But when a study from this came up about learning more about your health I was thrilled to do it for free. I had a chance to know who Iam but most importantly I learned of the diseases that I need to look out for in the near future. I truly would recommend anyone to take this test.

I am so glad that I received 23and me as a gift. I knew where some of my ancestors came from, though I didn't know many in person. Now I know how many countries my relatives came from originally. 12 and me has shown me that.

Very Good for What It Is

I received 23andMe as a gift from my daughter. My favorite part was ancestry nationality. I always suspected that I had some middle-eastern/north-african genes, and now I know that I do! It is fun to know my genes are 2% neanderthal. It is reassuring to know that I am not genetically predisposed to the diseases tested for by 23andMe, though these genes are admittedly few. The earwax stuff, etc, is fun.
