DNA no good

DNA says I have 98% English/Scotish DNA. I am 100% German, back anywhere from 2 to 12 generations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. If you do not see as much German ancestry as you expected, this is because you more closely resembled our other reference populations genetically. Keep in mind that you randomly inherit 50% of your DNA from each of your parents. For this reason, your ancestry assignments may vary depending on which DNA segments you inherited from each parent.

When I was younger I had been told that I was 50% Romanian and somewhat German, as well as some Native American (however I apparently have not inherited the Native American genes). After being anxious for a week my test results came back and some of the results I would have never thought of, it said that I was (basically) 0.4% Western Asian, as well as me being 49.8% Northwestern European - I didn't think it would be so much. The results helped me (and my family) discover more about our family - I would recommend this product to anyone who is curious about their family; ancestry.

I am very pleased with the dna results from 23andme compared to ancestry.com.
I find the results to be detailed and very accurate. Very good product.

I liked the health assessments. Best of all was the relatives I found from both parents who were adopted and raised by other relatives.Found out who my maternal grandfather was for my mom after 83 years. My mom had 7 siblings and my dad had 8 or 9. I am enjoying getting to know my first cousins and family history. Awesome .

Revelations beyond expectation.

I originally got the test to find my heritage. Being adopted, I was simply curious as to what I was made of.
Within 30 minutes of my results, I had found a half sister and found out who my father was.
His widow has embraced my children and I whole.
What began as curiousity.. has changed my life.. and answered a question that my heart never new needing answering.

Ancestry DNA

Your study of my DNA was comprehensive and accurate. I was surprised that you were able to identify my brother's youngest son by our DNA samples. That's when I realized your company does legitimate research. My biggest surprise was your revelation that I have European DNA, though most of my DNA was from sub-Saharan Africa, of which I am proud. Your presentation of the data was easy to understand because you broke it down into layman terms. I love the pictures you chose to display the features of each culture and ethnicity my DNA was linked to. It was creative and colorful. I was highly satisfied with my DNA report and it did wonders for my self esteem!
