Disappointing

Based on advertising I expected more specificity with respect to origins, and I thought health information would be specific to me when in fact it is only typical of those who share my origins. Health information is a guess and nothing more

Thank you for your feedback. The population labels in Ancestry Composition refer to genetically similar groups, rather than nationalities. In general, we sought to make the populations as small as possible, subject to the constraint of being able to distinguish between them. Populations may be inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart.
You can read about the population selection process in more detail in the corresponding section of the Ancestry Composition Guide: https://www.23andme.com/ancestry_composition_guide/
The data that we report is strictly genetic information regarding your genotype (e.g. the A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s at particular locations in your genome), generated through processing of your saliva by 23andMe.

Very Disappointed and not worth the money at all. Just gives you general "guesses" pretty much. I would not suggest spending the money on this.

Question on my results.

I just received my results and am disappointed. I know that my grandparents on my father's side were both half bred American Indians and that did not come up at all in my results. It makes me question the results.

Thank you for your feedback. Having Native American DNA is different from having Native American ancestry. Your results from 23andMe can only show you what can be seen in your DNA. Native American DNA is often lost with time and with every generation and may not be revealed in testing such as ours.
This does not mean that you do not have Native American ancestry or that your family heritage as passed down through the generations is incorrect.

Thank you for your feedback. Most human traits are complex, meaning they are not determined by a single factor. Even when we find genetic factors that have a large effect on a trait, they still explain only a portion of it. This means that we can only determine the likelihood of having that trait. That means there is still the chance of not having that trait.
Many other factors influence traits, including your ancestry, other genes, and other non-genetic factors. That’s why we also include a section in each report that talks about some of these other factors. The results are based only on specific genetic factors that we know about now, but our predictions may get better as we learn more.

Received this as a fun gift from my mother. The idea is great if only it were in the least accurate. I'm well aware of my ansestory at least as far back as 4 generations. These results couldn't be more inaccurate.

Thank you for your feedback. Providing each and every one of our customers with accurate data is 23andMe's number one priority. We have several quality control steps during the processing and loading of your data.
Our Ancestry Composition report tells you what percent of your DNA comes from each of 31 populations worldwide. The analysis includes DNA you received from all of your ancestors, on both sides of your family. Some populations are inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart. In these cases, your expected ancestry may actually be included in the broadly assigned ancestry for that region. The Broadly Assigned label is assigned when a piece of DNA can be found with some frequency in multiple regions.

I found My Biological Father!

I decided to do this a few weeks ago because I always wanted to find out what my geneology was since I never knew anything about my biological father. Incredibly, not only did I find out that I was Native American and Southern European but I discovered who my father was! It was a miracle! I had been looking for him for years and had actually given up hope of finding him years ago. Then when I did this I discovered my DNA matched me up with a 1st cousin that I never knew of and from my biological father's side! Thanks to 23 and me I finally found my dad! I also discovered I have 14 half brothers and sisters! I now have a whole new family. Thank you again 23 and me!!!!
