Useless for Eastern Europeans

This was a huge disappointment. My girlfriend did it before me and she got percentages for countries that she was from so I wanted to see if I was more Lithuanian or Ukrainian. Of course I didn’t get that. I got less than even being told I was Lithuanian and Ukrainian. I was told I was from Eastern Europe, which contains six other countries. Thanks for nothing. After Reading other reviews online of people who are disappointed just like me I think you should put it disclaimer on your website that it doesn’t work for Eastern European people. It would saved me some money. Bitterly disappointed.

VERY EXPENSIVE! Not worth it.

Was not worth it for me. I did not find out one new thing. They talk you into adding the Medical Traits onto it for another $100.00. Then it is emailed to you within minutes. Turns out it's just calculations that they already have from the previous testings. The diseases they look for, if you had them or carried them, you would have already known. I would only recommend this to people who have absolutely no information about their heritage.

Thank you for your feedback. The data that we report is strictly genetic information regarding your genotype (e.g. the A’s, T’s, C’s, and G’s at particular locations in your genome), generated through processing of your saliva by 23andMe.
The 23andMe Health + Ancestry Service is the first and only genetic service available directly to you that includes reports that meet FDA standards. You now are able to receive 65+ reports on health, traits and ancestry instead of exclusively ancestry reports.

My son bought me 23 and me Health and Ancestry for Christmas last year. Over the summer I got a hit which told me I had a new match. Long story short, I found a sister that I never knew existed. My siblings and I met her and her daughter this summer. It was awesome!!!!

Good Fun Experience

I have 3 kids, and had never met anybody I was biologicly related to. Curiousity as well as wanting to know about health issues that either myself or children might have to deal with were the main reason for investing in a kit. The kit has put in contact with quite a few people I never met but am directly related to, and it's been a blast. Along with this, the information I received about my health from 23andMe matched both conditions I was aware of as well as conditions my new found relatives were able to confirm. Getting the results for my Ancestry Composition was good fun as well. Definitely a fun experience I would strongly suggest.

We bought the complete package especially because of the health information and any genetic diseases one should know about. There was a health pre-disposition for a certain diagnosis (which was being treated before this test) and 23 & me had included what to do to avoid such condition one is predisposed to. It also showed another gene which we should know about and the doctors would rarely guessed to test for. Nothing to worry about in this case, but good to know for the wider family. More and more people keep testing, so we have more and more DNA relatives and connected with some of them, exchanging information. Also, there was a rumor in the family and DNA does not lie. It has been confirmed. It is interesting to know where our DNA really came from. I like 23 & me better than Ancestry. People were moving around. 23 & me even found our 3700 year old predecessor on one side and even older one on the other side. And thanks to DNA testing on historic sites, we keep learning more. There is so much more information, your haplogroup, traits, what time one gets up, it is amazing.

Our family is Native American Indian and you haven't correctly identified that sample of my DNA.

Thank you for your feedback. It is important to note that sometimes, even if a person's great, great grandmother, for instance, was considered to be Native American, the DNA does not reveal the Native American ancestry because evidence is lost each generation. In general, however, Native American ancestry within the last few generations is likely to reveal itself through our features
