Not comprehensive

Although it is very interesting, and a lot of information is provided about one's genetic background, I was expecting to see genetic likelihood for other diseases. For example, breast cancer.

I wish you had included my positive results for BRACA2 and STEP2 genes. You have increased my family, and for that I am grateful.

Disappointed in my ancestry report

I expected to see a lot more details in my ancestry report instead of French/German and Broadly European etc. I was born in Germany but what I really wanted to know is if the rumors of having ancestors from the Basque region were true, but I can't tell. The report didn't show even parts of a country that could lead me to finding some family tree records there. I feel like I have learned nothing. I'm glad that the health report seems to say I am pretty healthy. I don't know. This wasn't really what I was hoping for.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback. The population labels in Ancestry Composition refer to genetically similar groups, rather than nationalities. In general, we sought to make the populations as small as possible, subject to the constraint of being able to distinguish between them. Populations may be inherently difficult to distinguish because of historical mixing, or we might not have had enough data to tell them apart.

Your results can be considered a living analysis. Using thousands of reference individuals, we are able to continually evolve and improve your results. As we update our reference data, it will not be uncommon to see slight shifts in your results over time.

Very Interesting

It would be nice to find out if there are any mental illnesses that run in the family and examples of what medications are the best for certain illnesses. I liked that I was able to find out how the Irish migrated from Ireland and that I am not only Irish on my mother's side. Can't wait to see what my brother's tells me about my father's side. I'm thinking of getting a kit for my mother and one of her brothers so we can explore more into our families DNA and HEALTH. I have gotten to compare my Ancestry with two of my mother's sisters. It is very interesting and to think I could be related somehow to my best friend who lives in the UK. That would be AWESOME. Can't wait see what else I'm able to find out about myself. Sometimes the questions are hard to understand, some seem like trick questions and that makes it harder to determine the DNA/HEALTH.

I learned a lot about my family and health history! A lot of useful information that I am glad I was able to get! It was especially great because my mom was a foster child, so we didn't know much about her or her family history- and we have a lot of health issues , so it was nice to learn about things on a deeper level.

I wanted to do 23 and me mainly for the Health reports but after getting it it was the Ancestry part that gave us (my family) a huge surprise! We have relatives close by now that we would probably have never known if it wasn't for doing this test. Our family just got a lot bigger!
